Blue Island Smiles works with many dental insurance plans and networks and helps patients understand how their benefits may apply to care. Because network participation and coverage vary by plan, contact our office before treatment to confirm your current benefits and expected costs.

Confirm Your Coverage Before Treatment

How Our Team Can Help

When you provide your current insurance information, our team can help review details such as:

  • Whether the office participates in your plan’s network
  • Your deductible and annual benefit maximum
  • Coverage percentages for different types of treatment
  • Waiting periods, frequency limits, or other plan restrictions
  • Your estimated insurance benefit and remaining responsibility

Benefit Estimates Are Not Guarantees

Any estimate is based on information supplied by your insurance company at that time. Your insurer makes the final coverage and payment decision after processing the claim. You remain responsible for deductibles, coinsurance, noncovered services, and any difference between the estimate and the final insurance payment.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

To help us review your benefits and submit accurate claims, please bring:

  • Your current dental insurance card
  • A valid photo ID
  • The subscriber’s name and date of birth, if someone else holds the policy
  • Any secondary dental insurance information
  • Referral or authorization information when your plan requires it

Tell us whenever your employer, insurance carrier, subscriber, or policy changes so we can update your information.

Medicare Advantage Dental Coverage

Blue Island Smiles may accept dental benefits included with certain Medicare Advantage plans. Networks, covered services, referrals, and authorization requirements vary. Call (708) 371-3844 with your insurance information so our team can review your specific plan.

Understanding Covered and Noncovered Services

Dental plans often group services into preventive, basic, and major categories, but each policy defines those categories differently. Some plans limit how often a service is covered, require a waiting period, use an alternate benefit, or exclude cosmetic treatment. Our team can help you understand the information supplied by your insurer before treatment begins.

Options Beyond Dental Insurance

If you do not have traditional dental insurance, the Choice One Dental Savings Plan offers specified preventive services and discounts on eligible care for an annual membership fee. It is a dental savings plan, not insurance, so review its current benefits, exclusions, and enrollment terms before joining.

For costs outside the savings plan or your insurance benefits, visit our payment and financing options page to review accepted payment methods and third-party financing resources. You can also call (708) 371-3844 for current information.
